王国平

Wang Guoping, born in 1947 in Nanyang, China, is the founder of the Century- Old Prosperous Zen Oil Painting, a national intangible cultural heritage. He is also an invited painter and art consultant at the Chinese Heritage Centre of Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.

Mr.Wang is a dedicated artist, full of energy, passion and creativity. While painting, he is always calmand composed, deeply immersed in the world of spiritual world of artistic creation.

Mr.Wang’s unique Zen oil painting style is not only highly regarded in China but also influential in Singapore. Mr. Sam Goi, Chairman of the Board of Tee Yih Jia Group and a notable figure among Singapore’s top ten wealthy individuals, has a particular fondness for Mr. Wang’s oil paintings. He has collected 12 pieces from the “Prosperous Era, Symphony of Heaven and Earth” love myth series by Mr.Wang, which are displayed at the headquarters of Tee Yih Jia Group. Mr. Sam Goi also invited Mr.Wang to create paintings for his new residence. Additionally, Mr. Wang’s Zen oil paintings have been praisedand collected by Mr. Wei’s friends in the business and political circles of Singapore and Malaysia. The Chinese Heritage Centre of NTU and several art institutions in Singapore have also collected Mr. Wang’s oil paintings.

In mid-September 2016, Chinese Heritage Centre held an exhibition for him at NTU. Ong Ye Kung, then-Minster of Singapore, attended the event, and more than 200 important guests were present at the exhibition’s opening ceremony. Bertil Andersson, then-President of NTU and Xu Guanlin, the former President gave speeches. The success of this exhibition significantly boosted Mr. Wang’s reputation in Singapore.

In May 2017, Mr. Wang was warmly received by Tony Tan Keng Yam (then- President of Singapore), Ong Ye Kung (Minister of Education), and Sim Ann (Senior Minister of State for Culture, Community and Youth).

On May 16, 2024, Tharman Shanmugaratnam (the current President of Singapore) and his wife visited Mr. Wang’s art gallery in Xiamen, China, for a friendly exchange.At the same time, Mr. Sam Goi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tee Yih Jia Group in Singapore, and more than 100 important guests from home and abroad were invited to attend the opening ceremony of the exhibition.
