“The Golden Rooster 金鸡爆喜 Contemporary Fine Art Group Exhibition 2017”
Foreword by Li Zimi

Since ancient times, the Rooster is a symbol for soaring aspirations, vitality and good luck. The emperors of ancient China often used the auspicious nature associated with the Rooster to advocate the goodness of human nature. Artists too, used the Rooster’s image to expressively showcase its beauty and grandeur in their artworks since a long time ago. With the ‘Rooster’ appearing widely in both our traditional culture and staying relevant even in our social context today, it is truly a representation of a better life and an ideal future.

Like the positive connotations above, the featured artists in ‘The Golden Rooster Contemporary Group Exhibition’ actively challenge themselves to be in a constant state of artistic growth from quantitative to qualitative, dedicating themselves to bring about new breakthrough and excitement in their works.

This exhibition showcases the theme of the ‘Rooster’ to convey the feelings and ideals that they persistently pursued and explored during their journey. It contains not only the celebratory tone of the Year of the Rooster, but also bring about the interpretations of their unique views & ideas on art and the blessing of a new beginning to the public.
